Beachworker
Even safer working at height and in the tide area: The Beachworker succeeds.
The Beachworker is a completely different vehicle from the Deltaworker, but they serve the same purpose: safely transporting wind turbine mechanics from point A to point B. This is because the wind turbines themselves do not have ladders leading to the entrance.
Work Areas
The Beachworker operates at its best on the dry section of the beach. Once the Beachworker is in position, the support legs are deployed, ensuring the vehicle is stable on the sand. The technicians can then enter the man basket and be safely guided to the access point of the wind turbines.
The Modifications
At its core, the Beachworker is based on a Mercedes Unimog. However, this was not sufficient. The chassis has been reinforced and a load platform has been added for tools and other equipment. Mounted on the Unimog is a Palfinger PK 23500 truck-mounted crane.
A three-person man basket is attached to the crane, featuring a steel frame, safety guards and handrails. An adjustable rear platform is also fitted at the rear of the Beachworker, where the man basket is positioned during driving. In addition, hydraulic stabilizing legs are installed.
Certificates
The Beachworker is built in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and has been issued an EC type-examination certificate. This includes a declaration of conformity under EN 280-1 & 2:2022. The conformity inspection was carried out by a notified body, which issued the relevant certificates.
