Our Amphibious Excavators

From compact 2-tonne machines that easily manoeuvre through narrow ditches to 35-tonne giants for large-scale nature restoration projects.

Since 2005, Waterking has been building amphibious excavators that set the standard in power, stability and versatility. Newly available, young used or for rent. With proven quality and flexibility, our machines give you the freedom to work where others get stuck.

WK 20 NG-A

The smallest amphibious excavator in our fleet, with an adjustable undercarriage. Suitable for narrow waterways and small bodies of water. Can be transported in one go on a BE combination.

Features

WK 55 NG-A with rake at work to fill the collection bin after mowing exotic plants

WK 55 NG-A

Ideal for small bodies of water with soft soils or for carrying out work from the water. Can be transported in one go thanks to its adjustable undercarriage.

Features

A WK 95 NG-A amphibious excavator at work with side pontoons and hydraulic spud piles on a water-ski course

WK 95 NG-A

Operates without additional pontoons in water depths of up to 1 metre. For the maintenance of marshland and medium-sized bodies of water. Can be transported in one go thanks to its adjustable undercarriage.

Features

The WK 150 in the water without side pontoons travels on the bottom of the water

WK 150 NG-A

The largest amphibious excavator with an adjustable undercarriage, meaning it can be transported in one go. For tasks such as revetment work, pond clearance and the maintenance of wetland areas.

Features

A Waterking amphibious excavator with a full bucket at work on soft ground

WK 220 NG-5

Can operate without additional pontoons at depths of up to 1.2 metres. Fitted as standard with a long-reach boom. Can be transported on two lorries. Opting for a fixed undercarriage offers many additional benefits, such as lower ground pressure. No transport permit is required.

Features

A WK 350 NG-5 driving through a nature reserve where there is ice

WK 350 NG-5

Operates without additional pontoons at depths of up to 1.7 metres. Fitted as standard with a long-reach boom offering a maximum digging reach of 18.5 metres. Opting for a fixed undercarriage brings many additional benefits, such as greater stability thanks to wider pontoons. No transport permit is required.

WK 220 dredge model, an amphibious excavator with power pack, dredging pump and dredging hoses

WK 220 & 350 dredge

The dredge version of a WK 220 NG-5 or WK 350 NG-5 is fitted with a power pack and a dredging pump from DAMEN. This power pack is custom-built and provides sufficient flow for the dredging pump. A dredge variant also includes pipework and floats for pumping the dredged material.

Electric dredging

In 2025, Waterking became the first manufacturer in the world to launch fully electric dredging capabilities. This is available for the WK 220 NG-5 and the WK 350 NG-5. Essentially, it is the same machine, but with two large power boxes housed in the excavator’s body instead of a diesel engine.

Areas of application for amphibious excavators

Under which conditions are Waterking amphibious excavators suitable?

Our machines are in their element where others wouldn’t even attempt to go. Think of narrow ditches that seem barely passable, shallow pools where you’d normally get stuck, vast marshes, stream valleys, peatlands and dynamic tidal areas. That’s where Waterking amphibious excavators really come into their own.

And if work needs to be carried out in deeper water? Then we deploy additional pontoons fitted with spud legs. We go one step further, even in busy, navigable waters. With middle pontoons and the ES-TRIN certificate, we build machines that meet the strictest European safety standards.

ES-TRIN is mandatory within the EU, but the value of this certificate knows no bounds. The party operating an amphibious excavator is responsible for ensuring it is used safely. If this is not done correctly, serious accidents may occur.

By operating with an ES-TRIN certified machine, the safety of both the machine and the operator is ensured, no matter where in the world it is deployed.

The Waterking production process

Discover how we forge steel into craftsmanship and innovation

Every Waterking machine begins as an idea on the drawing board. In our workshop in Tynaarlo, craftsmanship and innovation come together. Here, we weld, bolt, test, and fine-tune until every detail is just right.

We work closely with trusted partners, but the soul of every machine is created by us. Only when an excavator arm cuts smoothly through the test pond and a chassis effortlessly proves its buoyancy do we give the green light. Only then can it be released into the world, ready for transport to any conceivable work area.

ES-TRIN Certification

Ensures the safety of the machine and the operator

Safety on the water is not an option, it’s an absolute requirement.

That is why, in 2021, we went one step further than the rest. Since then, Waterking has been the only manufacturer in the world to supply amphibious excavators with ES-TRIN certification.

This European certificate is compulsory for work on navigable inland waterways and sets the strictest requirements for stability and safety. Germany applies the most stringent standard in this regard: a machine is permitted to list by a maximum of five degrees, with a full bucket and a fully extended boom. Our amphibious excavators pass this test with flying colours.

Resulting in the most stable and safest amphibious excavators in the world.
With our machines, you’re choosing not only innovation, but also reliability and safety, wherever in the world your work takes you.
