ES-TRIN regulations for coupling pontoons

In order to obtain a hull inspection certificate, our coupling pontoons must meet a number of requirements. We have listed the most important ones below:

• Minimum plate thickness 3.0 mm
  Waterking pontoons more than meet this requirement with a plate thickness of 4.0 mm and will therefore last for decades.
• Good structural condition; no cracks, rust, severe corrosion, deformations or significant damage
  New pontoons do not exhibit any of the above cosmetic issues.
• The compartmentalisation must be intact
  The compartmentalisation of an undamaged pontoon is always intact.
  
• No double plating in the bottom or side plating
  New pontoons do not contain any repairs where double plating has been used. If a repair is necessary, the entire damaged section must be replaced with a piece of steel of equivalent thickness and strength.
• The pontoon must bear a unique identification mark, which is permanently affixed and visible in all circumstances.
  The identification mark is permanently engraved into the top deck. Each pontoon has a unique serial number. This mark must correspond with the hull certificate.
  
  

New Waterking pontoons always meet the above requirements. The certificates are valid for 10 years. After these 10 years, a new certificate can be applied for for each pontoon; please check carefully that your pontoons meet the above requirements. Following a successful re-inspection, you will be issued with a new certificate valid for 10 years.
